Project overview

A woodworking company approached SiriusOne with the goal of staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and following best practices to enhance their global competitiveness. To achieve this, they decided to build reliable fleet management software to fully automate document circulation processes and simplify their workflows. At the time of the company's approach, they already had an initial version of the logistics management solution built by their in-house tech team and refined by a third-party vendor. However, the first version failed to achieve its intended goals, leading to challenges in performance, extensibility, and high costs of implementing features. It became apparent that a new app was needed to improve usability and ensure a personalized user experience, resulting in time-consuming operations. To overcome these challenges, the company trusted SiriusOne to be their partner in reinventing their plans and product. Our expertise in mobile and AWS development, made them the perfect fit for developing an Android mobile app and cloud-based middleware

Solution

The customer commissioned an internet-based logistics management software with a twofold task. Firstly, the new software was expected to consolidate all the core functionalities of the previous app more reliably. Secondly, it was required to add a new set of features to result in a single turnkey system capable of managing every product management process. To complete the task, SiriusOne assisted the customer in migrating their core business to the cloud using microservice software development. Our tech specialists worked closely with the customer's in-house IT team, designing a detailed roadmap and conducting a series of workshops. During the workshops, we shared our expertise and knowledge of cloud platform development for logistics, while the customer's team specified the functionalities to be migrated. In this collaborative and transparent framework, our engineers set up and configured a scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure. This infrastructure provided a set of readily available tools to operate SaaS solutions, as well as public APIs to manage them. Once the platform infrastructure was established, we migrated the customer's legacy monolithic apps and new microservice-based apps to the cloud platform, and refactored them
